Kunle Thomas - CEO

Kunle is renowned for his expertise, spanning about 25 years, in patient experience, quality governance, patient/public engagement, co-production, and health communications. He has worked in permanent roles and as a contractor for diverse sections of the NHS (National Health Service) in England, including acute hospitals, ambulance service, mental health, and commissioning. Prior to joining the NHS, Kunle worked at the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (CPPIH), precursor to Healthwatch England, where he played a key role in the setting up and promotion of patient and public involvement forums across England. Trusteeship of a Carers’ Support charity and lectureship (associate) at a London university were some of his other roles. Whilst in Nigeria in the 1980s, Kunle worked at Grant Advertising which had McCann-Erickson as its technical partners. There he developed strong skills in copy writing, client relations, and corporate affairs. Brands he worked on include Coca-Cola, Nestle, Tate & Lyle, and Lufthansa, to mention a few.

Kunle is the author of ‘Dear Patient – A Practical Guide to Patient Experience’, published in London in 2023.

Qualifications include LLM Medical Law & Ethics from Kent Law School, University of Kent, England, MSc Public Relations from the University of Stirling, Scotland, and BSc (Hons) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Kunle holds membership of the Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHSCM, UK) and was former member of the Institute’s regional council for London and the South East. He also holds membership of the UK Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR, UK), and has spoken at health conferences in the UK and Australia.

Dr. S A Osunkoya - Director

Dr. Osunkoya qualified from the University of Ibadan Medical School, Nigeria in 1986 and did his pre-registration job at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. After a brief period in the public service, he joined Lagoon Hospital, Apapa as a Medical Officer in August 1989 and rose to the post of Senior Medical Officer by 1993.

Dr Osunkoya had his postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Nigeria between 1995 – 96, with extensive exposure to the Critical Care Systems of the Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad, India between 2005 – 2006. He was the head of the anaesthetic, intensive care and emergency medical services of Lagoon Hospitals, 2006 – 2013 and also the Medical Director of the flagship hospital in Apapa, Lagos, 2011 – 2013, during which the hospital got the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. He is a member of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, Society for Critical Care Medicine and an alumnus of the Lagos Business School.

Dr Osunkoya is a Director and co-founder, Marigold Hospital, Surulere, Lagos.

Dr (Lady) A. Onslow – Technical Advisor

Dr Onslow is a UK-based GP (General Practitioner/family doctor) and an alumnus of Oxford University in both psychology and medicine. She combines clinical knowledge and two decades of experience with a passion for patient experience and engagement. She has a special interest in the impact of psychological wellbeing on physical health outcomes.

Dr O Osunkoya – Technical Advisor

Dr. Osunkoya is a highly experienced physician based in the United States, with over 35 years of clinical practice across Nigeria, the UK, and the US. His medical journey began at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos where he earned his MBBS.

For the past 15 years, Dr. Osunkoya has been actively involved with accountable care organisation, focusing on delivering cost-effective care through effective population management strategies. His commitment to improving healthcare systems continue to shape his professional endeavours
